Feelin' 22

When I bought this dress over the summer, I wasn't sure where or when I was going to wear it, only that the combination of pink seersucker and a big bow meant it belonged in my closet. Luckily, the perfect occasion to finally wear it arose- my birthday! I turned 22 last Thursday, September 18.

My boyfriend took me out for a birthday dinner at Top of the Hub in Boston. The view was absolutely amazing, and the food was delicious! (I ate my veal roast before remembering to snap a photo, but trust me, it was so good)

Corbin & I walked over to the river before heading home to get one last look at the city lights. It was a clear and gorgeous night, and the perfect way to end my 22nd!

I don't know about you, but I'm feelin' 22, and ready to take on this new year in my life. I'm excited to see what this year brings, and to keep blogging and working on Boston Belle!

Luck of the Draw

Dress: Everly c/o (similar option for fall) | Necklace: Purple Peridot (similar, similar) | Bracelet: my grandmother's | Wedges: Steve Madden (similar)

Marissa Meade of Style Cusp is one of my favorite style bloggers, and I fell in love with this Everly dress when I saw her wear it in this post. I would have gone and bought it in a heartbeat, but the style wasn't available anymore. So of course when Marissa announced she was partnering with Everly for a giveaway, I was so excited to enter... and I ended up winning it!! I was absolutely thrilled and I've already worn it several times since receiving it.

I meant to post this awhile ago, but I've been so busy with work– and then my 22nd birthday was this past Thursday, which I went to NYC over the weekend for. I hope to have a birthday recap post up soon, so keep an eye out!

Endless Summer

It was quite the saga to get this Lilly dress... I tried it on, fell in love with it, didn't buy it, regretted it, couldn't find it in stores anywhere, and so had to cross my fingers it would show up in Lilly's previously named Endless Summer Sale, now the After Party Sale.

I woke up bright and early to browse the site promptly at 8am, and voila! I selected the dress in the size I had tried it on in, checked out, and patiently waited for my After Party purchases to arrive. To my dismay, however, when I did get it and eagerly tried on, I found that it didn't fit me quite right. Luckily, Preppy Pink Shop saw my plight and offered to swap her small for my XS so that we would have the correct sizes. A HUGE thank you again to her for being so amazing and helping me get my Holy Grail Lilly of the year :)

Doesn't my mom look adorable?! She and my dad were on their way to a friend's 50th birthday surprise party. I'm so proud of how far she's come with her style- she used to be the queen of matching cardigan sweater sets... those were some dark times. (Sorry Mom if you're reading this, but it's true. Love ya!)

On my mom-Top: Banana Republic (similar) | skirt: Ellie Kai | Belt: White House Black Market (similar) | Shoes: Lilly Pulitzer

On me- Dress: Lilly Pulitzer | Belt: Betsey Johnson via TJMaxx (similar) | Earrings: old (similar, similar) | Sunglasses: Ray-Ban

Fall Frocks

I've recently gotten many requests for good fall dresses, so I wanted to share some of my picks!
Right now I'm loving rich colors, patterns, and 3/4 sleeve options that are easy to throw on. Here are 9 dresses to carry you through the fall (Pumpkin Spice Latte optional).
Boston Belle

1. Lilly Pulitzer | 2. J. Crew Factory | 3. Lush (would look adorable with a bow belt) |  4. Wayf - I've absolutely loved this dress ever since Caitlin of Southern Curls and Pearls wore it and just had to include it on here | 5. H&M | 6. Francesca's (cute to pair with a denim jacket) | 7. Vineyard Vines (perfect for a nice dinner out or one of those last warm September days) | 8. Forever21 | 9. J. Labor Day Recap

I can't believe it's already September! It seems like just the other day I was getting ready to walk across the stage for graduation. This summer has absolutely flown by, especially the last few weeks due to how busy I've been. My Labor Day Weekend was no exception- but not because of whirlwind Labor Day sales shopping sprees. I know. Someone probably should have checked my temperature.

I worked Saturday and Sunday at J. Crew, then hightailed it up to Maine straight from the end of my shift at 5. (After typing that, I realize I have to retract my previous statement... I did purchase a black excursion vest on Saturday, which is currently 25% off in stores AND is combinable with the 15% student/teacher discount! So if you wanted to get a J. Crew vest, now's a good time. Look out for a future post on how to style that vest and the herringbone version!)

On Corbin- Shirt: Banana Republic (similar) | Belt: local Boothbay boutique (similar) | Pants: Vineyard Vines
On me- Dress: Lilly Pulitzer (similar) | Pearls: my mom's... shhhhh, she doesn't know I have them ;)

I got to Boothbay Harbor just in time to meet my boyfriend Corbin and his parents for dinner. I wore one of my Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale purchases, the Daylin Dress in Bright Navy Bubbly. Although it was a dress I didn't go into the sale specifically looking for, I'm so glad I decided to get it! The octopus print was fitting for the night, as I ventured out of my comfort zone and tried new sushi and wood fired oysters (which, as it turns out, I like a whole lot better than raw ones!).

Despite a muggy thunderstorm the night before, Labor Day dawned sunny and beautiful.

How cute are these nautical pillows?

On Corbin- Tshirt: Polo (similar) | Shorts: J. Crew Factory | Bracelet: KJP
On me- Jeans: J. Crew (the most comfortable jeans ever) | Sandals: Jack Rogers

It was a nautical motif kinda day.

And of course, what weekend is complete without an adorable pup? This is Corbin's border collie, Maggie, aka the happiest dog on the earth.

How did you spend your Labor Day Weekend? And if you partook in the sales, I'd love to know what you got! :)

Breaking the Rules Since Day One

Although I wore this outfit a few days ago, I had already made up my mind to launch Boston Belle at the beginning of the next month... which coincided, of course, with Labor Day. But as Shelby of Lucky Day Blog beat me to saying, "if you obey all the rules, you miss all the fun!"

Of course Miss Sadie wanted to be included in my first blog post... probably her first of many appearances

Dress: J. Crew (currently 40% off in stores!) | Necklace: Target (similar) | Wedges: J. Crew (similar) | Bracelets: Alex & Ani

New Beginnings

Happy Labor Day, and welcome to Boston Belle! Today marks the official launch of my "real" blog, and I could not be more excited!! Thank you to everyone who encouraged me and gave me the confidence to create this-- to my nearly 8,000 tumblr followers, my parents and siblings, my friends, boyfriend, and J. Crew family, you guys are so wonderful, and I cannot thank you enough.

To those of you who are new, WELCOME!! I hope you stick around to see future style & advice posts, and to follow along on my post-grad adventures as I try to balance one full- and one part-time job, riding, my love for fashion, and everything in between.
